It was a disco inferno in the burn barrel today. Mother of 5, determined to destroy remnants of the past , filled the barrel to the brim. And then spent the next 2 hours trying to make sure the house would be safe.
Lessons learned:
1) Flying cinder paper is scary
2) Eldest son is phenomenally quick with garden hose.
3) to effectively burn paper, photos, old cloth-bound journals, place them vertically in barrel, rather than horizontally.
4) It's going to be a long night making sure fire stays where it's supposed to
5) Never fill barrel over half-full
6) Burning misery is still good therapy
End of transmission =0)
